Schedule and New Information
Well guys yesterday Spencer and I sent in our final payment for Belize! With only 32 days till the trip the work of preparation kicks into full gear now! Yesterday upon sending in our money we received a packing list and some more detailed information about our trip. I think one of the things I am actually the most excited about is the learning opportunities that come along with this one in comparison to the other trips I have been on in the past. Now let me give you some of the information they sent me!
When it comes to projects and ministry my team will be serving in the inner city of Belize City, in a rural village, and with orphanages. We will also be doing a service project of painting which will be a two day project for 6 hours per day! I’m not sure of the exact site for our painting project yet, but it will be either a school, church, community center, or a home of a poor family.
Our daily schedule is pretty packed! Every morning we will wake up at 7am and be ready for breakfast by 7:30am. Each morning my team will separate and have 45 minutes of quiet prayer, bible reading, and personal journaling. Then we will have 45 minutes of group devotions directly following. When devotions are over we have missionary training class at 9am until 10am. Then we get on a bus and depart for our project. Our lunch will be at 12pm and then we work all the way until 6pm when we head back to the base for dinner. At night we aren’t finished! We have evening worship with all groups on the base at 7pm! Then it’s lights out at 9:30pm!
Our trip is a lot of work, but we also get a little fun as well! We have two mini-excursions that are offered during our trip. We have an exotic jungle monkey hunt and we get to go to a caribbean pool water park!
I can’t wait for the trip! I know that God is going to really test my faith and grow me as a Christian! There are so many wonderful opportunities for growth on this trip! Please be in prayer that my eyes are open and my heart is ready for all that I am going to be presented!
