God’s Hand is at Work!! 8 days…
Right now I am sitting at my desk with goosebumps! I think the most amazing moments in life are those when you see the hand of God moving and this is one of those moments, but before I get to that let me tell you some background information! You guys all know that I paid my own trip this year. I thought that because I have asked for support so many times in the past and because the economy is really hurting families, that it would be best if I did all I could to pay for this trip on my own. I went to work right after school was over and used my first pay check to fund my trip with faith in God that he would make my money worth it’s while! Little did I know that God had other plans. A few days ago I had a man offer to reimburse me for some of my trip as well as help purchase some ministry supplies! What a blessing! You guys don’t have any idea how much that moved me! Here Spencer and I were trying to buy all we could for these children, but we simply don’t have the money to purchase enough for all of them. However, now because of this man’s donation we will be able to reach even more children! I was blown away by how God was moving in this situation, but now today I found that God was not done working yet! This afternoon I got an email from the missionaries. Here is what it said:

Hi Kaelynn & Spencer,
I just wanted to contact you and inform you about some amazing developments that are taking place here in Belize. The Mayor of Belize City has recently rededicated her life to Jesus Christ. This is wonderful, but some negative events have been taking place because of the collapse of the world economy here in this country. 80% of Belize’s national income is from tourism and it has majorly decreased in the last few months placing the people in great need for income. This has brought the leaders to their knees and many have lost hope. But the good news is that some are turning to God.
Your mission trip falls right into a place where your team can be used as a real tool for the Lord’s work. This week the mayor invited Kathy and I to her office and informed us of a critical need in the city. She said there are children in the poorest parts of the city that will have no hope for any activities this summer. The Mayor asked for our help. These kids are the fatherless of the city. (Orphaned by their fathers) Most live in unbelievably poor conditions. The mayor asked us to conduct projects for these children who have nothing. Kathy and I felt so blessed to be asked, to know that God entrusted us to this mission. We told her that we had the perfect mission teams arriving for this mission. We told her about your group and her staff can’t wait to meet you.
Your Mission
To conduct a three day VBS for these less fortunate children.
- A DCI bus will pick them up at 10 am and take them to a church where your team will be. Your team can conduct crafts/art, skits, special children songs & music, games, paint nails, balloon animal making, ect … whatever you have prepared your team do.
- The church will have lunch prepared around 12:30 pm.
- at 1 pm the children and your team will load a bus and travel to a local park to conduct field games.
- At 2:30 pm the children will take the bus and return to the inner city.
- At 3:30 pm your team will return to the DCI campus.
++++++++++++
2 ½ days of your week will be helping restore the living conditions of the children you are working with, by painting houses in the neighborhoods where they live.
This is huge! A Mayor from one of the major cities in Central America has asked for your help. This has never happened in Belize. You will be making history the week you are here.

Guys… this is HUGE! Only God could have done something so exciting and so powerful as this… This is not merely a coincidence that Spencer and I are going to Belize these 10 days… This is a God thing… I hardly have the words to say except that I am thankful… So very thankful that although I am unworthy and disgustingly sinful God has not given on me. He still has a purpose for my life! Like I have said before I will give my life to Christ… He can have it and do with it what he pleases. My greatest joy in life would be to lay down my life whether that means a full life of service or praising God with my death….
I will serve God till my time on earth is done.
